Filipa Carreira is a Research Assistant at the Fund for Peace. Since joining the Fund for Peace in 2012, she has worked in the Conflict Early Warning and Assessment, Sustainable Development & Sustainable Security and Transitional Threats Programs. Currently she is working on the Country Profiles project, which seeks to provide insight into scores published in the Failed States Index.
 
Filipa received an MA in Global Security from the University of Sheffield. She received her BSoc Sc Honours in International Relations from the University of Cape Town where she studied African conflict and peace operations. She received her BSoc Sc with a double major in Political Studies and Policy and Public Administration also from the University of Cape Town. Prior to working at FfP, Filipa worked at a safe house for human trafficking victims and a peacebuilding NGO.
